- After a short flight from Cairo, stop in the city of Luxor is a special visit to the breathtaking Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex built by the man covering approximately 200 acres with individual temples built for various gods. - Temple of Hatshepsut: visiting the West Bank of Luxor and exploring the Temple of Hatshepsut built on the cliffs of an area known as Deir-el-Bahri. The temple was constructed out of limestone rock for the famous female Pharaoh Hatshepsut. - Valley of the Kings: Discover more of Luxor’s West Bank with a visit to the Valley of the Kings which is a massive burial ground for Pharaohs, kings and the elite of Egypt’s New Kingdom (1550-1070BC). There are 63 known tombs in the valley of which 26 were built for kings and the others for royal family members and the elites.
- Colossi of Memnon: Then visit the Colossi of Memnon, which are two huge statues around 17m high that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. The temple has been completely destroyed and all that is left are these two massive statues made from blocks of quartzite which feature Amenhotep III seated on his throne facing the Nile and the rising sun.
