Sculpture in Florence : Traditional Clay modelling class

This lesson will allow you to experience the traditional process of classical sculpture, understanding how it is created using the original materials that gave life to the most famous masterpieces.

Classical sculpture begins with clay modeling. During this three-hour lesson, you will work with traditional water-based clay to create a figure following the guidance of the Master Sculptor—usually an anatomical detail from Michelangelo’s David. With your hands immersed in the clay, you will feel its moist, velvety texture responding to your fingers, adapting to your touch and the shapes you create. As you focus on the tactile and visual sensations, you will begin to feel an intimate connection with the clay—a kind of silent dialogue between you and the material as it transforms under your hands.

You will create your own artwork under the guidance of our artist, inside a real local sculpture atelier. This experience is highly recommended for art lovers.
