Itinerary
- Girona Cathedral: he Cathedral is located at the heart of the Força Vella. Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, it includes a series of walls and spaces in different styles, from Romanesque (the cloister and Charlemagne tower) to the baroque façade and steps. Its most singular feature is its large Gothic nave (15th-16th centuries) which, at a width of 23 meters, is the widest of its kind in the world.
- Girona Art Museum: The Girona Art Museum was founded in 1976 when the Girona Regional Council and the Diocese of Girona agreed to merge the collections from the Diocesan Museum of Girona and the Provincial Museum of Antiques and Fine Arts into one. The latter had been created in 1846 to save works of artistic and archeological interest –as well as architectural remains from secularized buildings following the sale of Church lands – and was opened in 1870 within the Sant Pere de Galligants Monastery, which currently houses the Archeological Museum of Catalonia in Girona.
- This late 18th-century chapel, boasting a unique fusion of late Baroque and early Neoclassicism, is home to an intricate 20th-century sculpture of Saint Narcissus. The ceiling, adorned with captivating paintings of the saint's martyrdom, invites contemplation. Join us to delve into the enigma of Saint Narcissus and his imprint on Girona's Christian tradition.
