Itinerary
Our traditional Turkish tile art was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2016.
Are you ready to get to know Turkish tile art and learn its stages with me?
We will paint a tile plate with my guidance. You can choose a design from my selection of traditional Turkish patterns which you can see in Topkapı Palace or Sultanahmet mosque and others. I will teach you how to transfer the design onto the tile, and how to use ceramic paint to fill in the pattern.
For Turkish tiles, they need to also be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can take the tile home with you. It is a good gift for you that you made. Our classes are private. You can come alone or organize a workshop with your family and friends.
Please Note:
- For all Turkish Tiles, tiles need to be glazed and fired in a kiln once the painting is completed.
- Once the lesson is complete, your ceramic piece will be ready to collect within 7-10 days.
- If you cannot collect your piece we will be happy to post it out to you via postage at your own cost.
- Alternatively, you can take your unglazed ceramic piece home and have it fired in a kiln in your local country.
