Mardi Himal or Mt.Mardi of Annapurna sanctuary measure a mere 5587 meters. This mountain sits adjacent to Mt.Fishtail(6993m) north of Pokhara city. The traverse entailing to the base of Mt.Mardi is what we call Mardi Himal Base Trek. This is a relatively short-haul trek in Nepal, ranging from 5-7 days at most. As favored by most trekkers, Mardi Trekking is a perfect substitute for those who can make it to Annapurna Base Camp.
Traverse to Mardi Himal begins from the rural settlement of Dhampus and then takes on numerous Gurung and Magar villages. It follows across the ridge line of Pritam Deurali, Forest Camp, Low Camp, and finally, the High Camp. Owing to its easygoing trekking path, this traverse is a popular form of trekking for novices.
