Itinerary

  • Ancient City of Ephesus: The ruins of Ephesus are among the best preserved ruins in the world, with impressive architecture and ornate carvings. This ancient city dates back to B.C. times and was once one of the largest cities under Roman rule.
  • Temple of Hadrian: You will see some of the major attractions such as the Temple of Hadrian
  • Bibliotheque de Celsus: the Great Theater and the infamous Celsius Library. If you would like to visit the Terraced Houses whilst at Ephesus there is an extra fee of 15 USD per person.
  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House): Located on a mountain near Ephesus is the House of the Virgin Mary. Pilgrimages are made here throughout the year as it is believed to be the house where the Mother of Christ lived out her last days. Whilst visiting the sight you will get to see a great panoramic view of Selcuk and the surrounding area.
  • The Temple of Artemis: Back in 1374 the famous builder of the time, Ali the son of Mushimish al-Damishki, built one of the most supreme Seljukian style mosques, which today still stands. The mosque is located just below the St John Basilica and is a true example of the architecture of its time. It has beautiful details carved into the marble and mosaics that help to create the serene atmosphere. You will get to enjoy the mosque and really appreciate its beauty throughout.
  • Ephesus Terrace Houses: Do not miss a chance to visit the Terrace Houses section which is located inside the Ancient Ruins of Ephesus and has an extra entrance fee - 15 USD per person. "The houses of the rich Romans", the oldest building, dates back to the 1st century BC until the 7th century AD. You will be able to see amazing mosaics and frescoes and the famous water-running and heating system with clay pipes. Anyone who has seen it will tell you that it is one of the highlights of this place as you can really picture the lifestyle of the people in that period. In this section there are over 100 stairs so we do not recommend it for people with physical disabilities. It takes a minimum of 30 minutes to visit.
