- Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela: Here your knowledgeable guide will meet you at your hotel and guide you through the maze of the 11 rock hewn churches of Lalibela. You'll be able to go inside and see the ancient interior, as well as how the faithful worship.
- Asheton Maryam Monastery: Our morning begins with a visit to the Lalibela market. It is held only one day a week, so locals make sure to come out to buy as well as sell their wares. After our market visit, we will spend time today on a moderate intensity hike up above the town of Lalibela to visit Asheton Maryam. In this church we have the chance to see religious relics in the care of the Ethiopian Orthodox priest. We end the day with an Ethiopian cooking class that includes the traditional coffee ceremony.
