Itinerary

  • Colosseum: The tour always begins at the Coliseum though. Inside, your guide talk to you about the history of this ancient stadium – the largest amphitheatre in the Roman Empire. You’ll hear fascinating stories of the violent battles which were staged there, and why and how it was built.
  • Arch of Constantine: Next you will take the short walk to the Arch of Constantine and the Forum.
  • Roman Forum: The Forum was the main square of the ancient city, and the focal point of life in ancient Rome. Here you’ll see the ruins of the Temple of Julius Caesar, built on the site of his cremation, the Arch of Titus, House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House, the Basilica of Maxentius and much more. These ruins indicate the importance of the Forum, as a centre of religion, politics and commerce.
  • Complex of the Victorian Ala Brasini: Next, you’ll see one of the most recognisable buildings in the city, Il Vittoriano. Built in 1885 in honour of King Victor Emmanuel II, this impressive neoclassical building towers over the surrounding area, and is called the “Wedding Cake” by the locals – it’s not hard to see why. Located nearby is the Quirinal Palace, official residence of the current Italian President.
  • Trevi Fountain: You will also visit the incredible Trevi Fountain
  • Piazza Navona: before heading to the Spanish Steps, and on to Piazza Navona with its stunning fountains
  • Pantheon: and stroll through the narrow streets to the Pantheon.

With so much to see in the Eternal City, being accompanied by an expert guide guarantees you’ll experience the very best.
